If you love riding at top speeds all the while enduring hairpin turns and loop-de-loops, you’ll love spending a day at Six Flags Magic Mountain. As you plan your trip, check out our compilation of Six Flags Magic Mountain rides you can’t miss!

World record holder

Six Flags Magic Mountain has 19 roller coasters and is currently the record holder for the most roller coasters in an amusement park. The park's 19th coaster was the Speedy Gonzales Hot Rod Racers, which was added in 2014.

New in 2015: The Twisted Colossus

Since 1978, the main attraction at Six Flags Magic Mountain has been the Colossus, an iconic wooden roller coaster. In 2014, a transformation began to change the beloved Colossus into the Twisted Colossus, the world’s longest hybrid roller coaster.

Set to open in 2015, the Twisted Colossus will feature the wooden structure with the addition of a state-of-the-art Iron Horse Track. The combination of materials makes it a hybrid coaster.

When complete, the Twisted Colossus will offer 4 minutes of thrills on nearly 5,000 feet of track. Roller coaster fans will love the “Top Gun Stall,” an inversion where the train slows down upside down; a zero-G roll where the track twists 360 degrees; a staggering 128-foot drop at an amazing 80-degrees; 18 airtime hills; two lift hills; and the Western Hemisphere’s first “High Five” – where two trains pass through an overbanked turn facing each other with the illusion that riders can reach out and “high five” each other. If you can’t wait to ride the Twisted Colossus, you can take an animated preview “ride” here. Minimum height to ride: 48”

Speedy Gonzales

In June 2014, Six Flags Magic Mountain officially debuted Speedy Gonzales Hot Rod Racers in the revitalized Bugs Bunny World, a children’s area. Speedy Gonzales Hot Rod Racers features plenty of drops and thrills that kids and parents can enjoy together. With trains designed to look like race cars, riders will experience the exhilaration of racing to the checkered flag. The Speedy Gonzales Hot Rod Racers coaster addition brings the total number of coasters in the children’s area to four, more than any other theme park in the U.S. Minimum height to ride: 36”

BATMAN the Ride

This roller coaster allows you to experience Gotham City and a bat cave in one thrilling ride that climbs (and then drops) 10 stories. You'll reach speeds up to 50 mph as you twist, loop and swoosh your way through a crime-fighting adventure, just like Batman himself. Minimum height to ride: 54”

Full Throttle

Full Throttle is another record-breaking ride at Six Flags Magic Mountain. This one is the tallest and fastest looping roller coaster in the world! Not only do you reach speeds up to 70 mph all the while twisting and looping, you’ll switch directions and do it all backward! Minimum height to ride: 54”

More thrilling rides

Other thrilling rides that can’t be missed include the Green Lantern, a spinning coaster on a zigzag pattern track; Lex Luthor Drop of Doom, the world's tallest vertical drop ride; and Tatsu, the tallest, fastest and longest flying coaster in the world.
